Eucharistic Miracle Story in ASL

Eucharistic Miracle Story in ASL of Trani, Italy.

“In around 1000, the miracle took place at Trani, Italy, a non Christian woman who not believing in the Presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. She went to church and she pretended that she was a Christian. After she received a Communion and she took it out of mouth and placed it in her handkerchief. After she arrived home and she was testing to see if the bread was Blessed Sacrament or not. She threw Host in a heated pan filled with boiling oil to fry it. She was terrified when the Host turned into Blood spilling out onto the floor and flooded toward to the entrance door. She began to scream and ran out of her house and the neighbors went over her house and saw all the Blood.

The Archbishop was informed and he sent the consecrated Host back to the church.

Later in 1616, the Host was transferred to an antique silver shrine donated by Febrizio de Canio and in 1706, a noblemen converted the woman’s house into chapel. Later the Host in the relic transferred to Cathedral of Holy Mary of Assumption.” -You tube post

Scriptures in Sign Language | 2nd Sunday of Lent

Members of the mystical body of Christ are producing the Scriptures in Sign Language. ASL Catholic Media and the Archdiocese of Washington do a terrific job transliterating. Signing the Scriptures in ASL is a great way to evangelize.

Scriptures in Sign Language.Scriptures in ASL

Fr. Mike Depcik offers his gospel reflection explaining the scriptures in sign language. He has been spreading the gospel in many media outlets for years. He also travels near and far to reach Deaf and Hard of Hearing Catholic Communities. Because of his zealous spirit he is kind of like or has become, a world wide shepherd to the Deaf. May God bless him abundantly!

Thanking those who Deaf ministry in the Church ought be done more often. Particularly, ASL Catholic Media and ADW Deaf and Disabilities ministry. Why is this? Well, because every Catholic Church interpreter now has a resource of what their job should look like in ASL. But not only do interpreters are to thank these mentioned ministries, but every lector who signs the scriptures in ASL. The above ministries spend hours of their time to ensure the gospel message is dynamically equivalent to the printed text. If the scriptures in sign language is calling you to be your next ministry please contact them.

Eucharistic Miracle ASL

Eucharistic Miracle Retold in ASL- St. Peter Damian, Italy. “This miracle happened in St Peter Damian, Italy in 1050. A witch gave a horrible suggestion to a woman and asked her to get a consecrated Host from church and take it home to use it for sorcery. The woman went to get communion and she hid the Host in her hand but the priest noticed her walking away and he went and stopped her. He asked her to show him. He took the Host in the white linen cloth away from her. He went back to his church and when he opened the cloth and was surprised that half of the Host now was visible of Christ’s Body (flesh) and the other half looked normal. God wanted to win over an unbeliever who refused to accept the Real Presence of Christ, the Eucharistic mystery.”

Lent preparation in ASL

Lent preparation in ASL is given to us by ASL Catholic Media in partnership with St. Jose Maria Institute. The theological depth and richness of St. Jose Maria’s institute is shared with us in ASL. What a blessing! You don’t need to leave your house to attend and watch these podcasts. We are so blessed to have these Catholic resources available to us. Lent in Sign Language is a term that google search results do not show much Catholic listings. And so, this episode of a Lent ASL Teaching Resource breaks the barrier. We hope to get the Catholic vibe of lent in ASL out there! #Lent ASL Catholic.

If you would like to contact ASL Catholic Media and give them a donation for the amount of time they have given us for Lent preparation in ASL, find them here. Lent in Sign Language is not often preached on. To be more clear this is a great Lent ASL Teaching Resource. Hopefully, more and more will be inspired to get the word out in ASL about the resurrection and all that happens during the season of lent.
