ASL STUDENTS

Hello and welcome ASL students! We support ASL students who are practicing Catholics to assist in our Deaf Sunday School program. Find out how to serve the Catholic Deaf Community by clicking here. We provide Deaf ministry training.

We know from experience that high schools and colleges want you to experience the Deaf world. As you become familiar with our community you should have no issue completing any assignment.

Students after 1 semester of frequent interactions with our community enhance their signing ability. Simply, the more time with the Deaf or Hard of Hearing community the better. It is a great way to improve your Finger spelling receptivity skills and signing prosody.

Being part of a Deaf Church is a great way to learn religious vocabulary. Such vocabulary is not taught in ASL programs. How to sign Catholic prayers and mass becomes part of osmosis learning. You get to learn as you go.

ASL Students are to benefit by being involved in ASL Deaf ministry. Our Catholic Deaf Community assists students in their language and spiritual journey. They become mature interpreters because they excel early in their studies by being with us.

Please discern whether you would like to advocate for the Deaf and Jesus Christ in our Deaf Sunday School program. We offer Deaf Ministry training to ASL students.
